Just popping in to announce this: http://twitter.com/hellolace
We will be posting any updates made to the site, along with Lolita-related news. I thought it was about time we started using this thing (I created it ages ago). :) Everyone, have a great weekend!
I've fixed a few minor errors that I found in the wardrobe. The sub-sorting for Accessories > Wrist Cuffs and Set > Top and Skirt now works properly again. I also removed the Socks > Socks category and placed the existing entries into Socks > Ankle Socks.
I also updated the Taobao Guide & Links and Where to Buy pages with a few new links, a while ago.
I'd also like to know which brand(s), if you could choose any (besides Taobao/Bodyline; indies is fine), would you like us to add to the wardrobe in the future?
I'm sorry for the lack of updates lately. Well, visible site updates. We're actually doing a lot of work behind the scenes. I've spent quite some time designing our new admin panel + new design, and planning the features we're going to implement. As you may have noticed, I've also asked a number of amazing people to help me translate the website into various languages (note: still looking for a French translator fluent in English).
The site also has a new programmer, welcome the epic Garrett. He will be doing the majority of the coding for v.2.
And to address a few things I've seen/been asked:
The Website Search:
I removed the website search bar for now, as it hasn't been working for months. We know this is an issue of course, so me and my new programmer has put our great minds together and cooked up a search we think you will like for version 2. It'll be a lot more advanced, and should make finding anything you could ever imagine a breeze. I'll do my best to make it as user-friendly as possible, so don't be frightened by the word advanced. :)
Teaming Up with Lolibrary:
I also get asked and see the question if we will ever team up with Lolibrary.org. The answer is: most likely not. It seems that our site concepts clash too much to make this possible.
I hope everyone had an enjoyable time yesterday. I'm glad to see our April Fool's joke got some attention. :) In case you missed out, it was of course the re-release of AP's Puppet Circus!
As for something more serious, we're eagerly working on version 2 of hello lace. We have a whole bunch of new features planned, including a new design, of course. I'd just like to toss in that if anyone of you is longing for a specific feature, or have any type of browser troubles upon visiting - now's the time to tell us. :)
The wardrobe is back up, but in case anyone is wondering, I'm still looking for a programmer experienced in PHP + MySQL, and preferably also .htaccess.
Since Hiroko remade the database, and rewrote the code into a more efficient solution, you'll notice the sorting should be faster. However, some things are still erroring, including the sub-sort, an issue with the years (0000) and broken images (which I will have to fix manually). But, it's up. :)
Less interesting updates includes the FAQ of Frills under What is Lolita, and a few new icons.
